Has Your Divorce Made You Fat?...

Divorce is one of the most painful life experiences you can encounter, so it is no wonder that people gain weight after a divorce. If you have used food for comfort in the past, you are at high risk for overeating during a divorce. Filling yourself up with the foods you love can temporarily relive the pain. That is until you step on the scale and beat yourself up for gaining weight.

Some people will go to the opposite extreme and actually lose weight during a divorce. They completely lose their appetites. Others will reach for alcohol, prescription drugs or worse to soothe the pain. No matter what you use, it is a temporary fix. The pain you feel will be there to greet you again after you have finished that bag of chips or drank that bottle of wine.

Unfortunately, there is no magic solution. There is nothing out there that can ease the intense pain and suffering you are going through right now. Only time and allowing yourself to experience the grief and sadness can make you feel better.Working through and releasing your emotions in a healthy way is the best medicine. So let it out by punching a pillow, writing a letter to your ex and burning it and allowing yourself to have a good cry. Try to look for other, healthier ways to release your emotions instead of using food to make yourself feel better.

You have a very informative and well-formatted blog. Kudos!

It's interesting to read everything strictly from a woman's perspective.

We're men - the difference with us, however, is that we actually listen. It's actually our job.

Excellent advice. More and more evidence support that if you let your stress out in healthy ways (exercise) it can help with both your physical and mental well being. Take the opportunity to turn over a new page, get fit and fabulous.

Physical fitness and mental fitness go hand in hand. It seems Americans don't understand the role that physical fitness plays in our lives. If you don't feel good, you won't feel good.

Don't let your life run you. You should be healthy, happy, and comfortable with yourself. Focus on the things that really matter, and you will be fine.

Don't fall too deep inside. meet people who love and care for you, spend time with other family or children, doing things you like. Hopefully that will heal soon.

Divorce is not easy but it is now an accepted phenomenon. I suggest that it is the level of acceptance that has increased the number of divorces and not a shift in a willingness to compromise. There have always been dreadfully unhappy marriages. The difference is that three generations ago, people remained trapped in them.

Very well described about the pain, emotions and after effects of Divorce. Few days back I read a stunning novel about one woman’s struggle toward enlightenment. Forced to flee Bombay when her wealthy and charming husband divorces her and squashes her career, Lucky Boyce feels defeated and desperate for respite. Fortunately, old friends welcome her to New York where life begins with promise. Determined and trying to make a difference, she volunteers to teach yoga to prison inmates. But with her confidence in question and love starting to surface, a series of bizarre events. I couldn’t help but feel compassion toward this character even as her strength and will power inspire.

According to estimates, almost one half of all marriages will ultimately end in divorce. Since increasing the well-being of children is the alleged goal of the marriage promoters, it would seem logical that some effort would be made to help the divorce process to be less of a traumatic experience for children. Children brought up by separate parents or divorced parents are always unhappy and seems to vent their anger on the society. Even though they pretend to be happy, innermost they seem to have missed a greatest thing-the joy of living with both parents. Sometimes, divorce is not the solution to the dispute in the family but one of the partners tend to seek liberty for his or her infidelity. Parents should try and think twice for the sake of the children and their future. Visit Quick Divorce for more information.

Interesting to know that. I practice as mediator and resolved many divorce cases quickly. Now I would see my clients in this prescriptive too. Should I be a good nutritionist too?

your blog is highlighting the divorce issue really nicely, divorce is never easy and no matter what you do, handling it or being able to live with it needs time and some help..

yes. divorce has the tendency to make you gain weight, the reason being you eat out and more to cheer yourself up, you eat more chocolates and sweets to remain sweet and sleep more to make the pain go away. hence the weight gain

Thank you for sharing this information. I felt like I had already put on 10 pounds by the time I had gotten off the phone with my New Jersey divorce attorney. Reading this has made me feel like some of the weight has been lifted.

Life takes a set back for most women after a divorce. It's a heart breaking situation and many women take time to find out a way out of this pain. But this did not stop my life after the incident. I carried on with daily things to keep myself busy, and thankfully didn't gain much weight.

It has take nearly 3.5 years for me to recover from the pain of my divorce, but I'm...let's just say better. I gained a lot of weight during my divorce, but I consider my divorce encompassing the year leading up to filing. I did; however, loose the weight. The way I did it is not for everyone, but it helped me and helped me to think me clearly...I WALKED...A LOT. Walking outside helped give me time to think not to mention it released endorphins. Even if I was in a bad mood, I would soon be smiling and taking deep breaths. The best thing I did for myself was walk! :)

Hello, yeah kinda true a friend of mine doesn't look for her health after she got divorce with his husband, may be because dealing with children and divorce really stressed her a lot, shes happy now meeting with other people, also she put some extra time exercising in the gym.

Divorce is a very traumatic experience but life doesn’t stop with your divorce. So after you’ve gotten over the trauma of breaking up with your ex husband/wife it’s time to build new relationships and find yourself a new partner! For this.. http://howrelationshipswork.blogspot.com/2011/05/dating-after-divorce.html

Yes! Divorce triggers depression, and when I'm depressed I tend to engage in binge eating. It is really bad and very unhealthy.

Divorce did just the opposite for me. I lost nearly 20lbs due mainly to stress! I just wish I could keep them off... Once settled, I find my appetite has returned :(

Stressful situations can affect a person's weight. I won't be surprised to see people coming out of the divorce process experience weight gain or sudden weight loss.

I have many problems in my life and have been to so many spell casters with no results and as a result of this, I ended up in a huge debt. One day I used internet and felt some kind of strange but kind and gentle force as if someone was guiding me to search for spell casters. I can’t remember the words I typed in the search engine but I was directed to Dr.Gboco And that was it! I felt so lucky to have found his email: gbocotemple@yahoo.com It all happened so naturally and easily and I am glad it did. No words can express the feeling I had.Despite all the bad experiences I had with FAKE spell casters on the internet in the past, nothing could stop me from reaching my dreams, so I ordered a spell from Dr.Gboco. I had sleepless nights and was was very worried because I promised myself I won’t approach a spell caster for help but did as it was time for me to help myself, stop crying and stop feeling sorry for myself.I also knew there was someone out there who is capable of helping me.

When my boyfriend and I broke up, I was completely lost. A good friend of mine recommended that I have a love spell cast to bring him back by DR OKOUGBO ALABA. I thought that idea of a love spell was strange, but was willing to give it a shot. When I contacted Dr Okougbo Alaba for the first time, I was scared because I was not sure if what they did went against my religion. He assured me that they only use traditional voodoo which is safe and has no side effects. I felt a little better and decided to do the return lover spell. I did not think that it would work considering my ex and his whole family hated me and told me never to contact them again. Within 2days he showed up at my job and brought flowers to me. He said that he missed me more than he could describe and decided that the good out weighed the bad. We got back together and our relationship has been better the second time around. I have to give Dr Okougbo Alaba all of the credit in the world for helping us get back to a better place than where we began. The new found love that he has for me is incredible and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!” Dr Okougbo Alaba can also help you. His email is realhomeofspell@outlook.com
